BACK TO WORK

I just thought I'd take a moment to make a quick post until I had the time to put up a real post later. I'm back at work now, and have a lot less time to blog, but I will try to keep a weekly schedule at the very least.

I should comment on the surprising comments I had on the previous post, about acting. I found it funny that no one I know posted on this subject, except Tracy, which tells me that either my regulars didn't want to comment on my thoughts on acting, or they felt the need to do so anonymously. If the latter was the case, I didn't realize that acting was such a touchy subject matter!

Well, until I have the time to talk about something important, have a look at some Almond Cookies I baked for my Mom yesterday.

The cookies are really good Keith. Thanks again. I can't decide which I like better. They are both delicious.

OOooh Almond cookies! They look awesome :-) sorry we missed you up at the lake buddy. Your Rye Bread was fantastic. Everyone ate a piece; even the kids.. They missed you too!

As for commenting on acting, I went hunting online for some open face pics of Orlando Bloom and Johnny Depp. Eventually I found one of Depp, but gave up after hunting for one of Orlando. All his expressions are exactly the same. So the rant I intended to post came to a grinding halt... *sigh*

So that's why I didn't get a chance to post :-P

Catch up soon Keith!
hugs
Suzanne.

Glad you liked the cookies and the bread. I do love to make fine food!

As for your search for pictures of Orlando Bloom and Johnny Depp, you probably aren't going to see what I'm talking about from still pictures. It's best to look at a movie, and cover up the actor's face (all except the eyes that is). This way you can tell if they are able to communicate with their eyes, and not get distracted by the rest of their face.

Now I'm not trying to put these actor's down, or say they suck, or that it's wrong to like these actors. Hell, I like Patric Stewart, and he's got a big, closed face. I'm just pointing out that there is more going on in an actor's performance than most people think.

Having an open face is nothing more than a talent. You are either born with it or not. It's not something you can learn to do, but if you have it, you can almost get away with not acting. An actor with a reasonable amount of charm, and an open face can walk through a role without trying, and seem engaging. That's just how powerful a tool having this talent can be for a film and TV actor.
